I work closely with my clients to design the most effective treatment plan
I use a variety of proven methods to give my clients the tools they need to overcome their emotional problems. At times treatment will predominantly focus on one technique, for others the best treatment strategy uses components from several related approaches.
Some of the main psychotherapy techniques I use are:
Psychodynamic Therapy
Cogitive-Behavioral Therapy
Play Therapy for children
"It’s a scary thing trying to get help, but Pamela immediately made me feel comfortable in our first conversation. I was able to get personalized recommendations on what approach that would best fit my needs."

FAQs
How does the therapy session work?
In the first session, I will ask the client to tell me about his/her background, therapeutic concerns and goals. I will ask questions and discuss the clients priorities to design a treatment plan specific to the client's needs. In most situations, therapy sessions will be scheduled on a weekly basis. For some clients very few sessions will be needed, but more commonly treatment will commence for several months. During and after each therapy session, progress will be evaluated, current priorities identified and the treatment plan adapted for the greatest benefit to the clients.

Will my health insurance cover therapy?
Psychotherapy may be covered by your health insurance. Your overall health is important for a long, happy and productive life. Mental health benefits are mandated by law to be included in your general health insurance, and your treatment may this be covered fully or in part by your Health Insurance. Your personal expenses for psychotherapy are likely approved for use with your tax-deductible Health Spending Account. Many of our clients plan their out of pocket expenses that can be reduced by around 30% through this excellent program. Ask your health benefits specialist to determine whether this option is available for you.
We Help You Determine Your Insurance Benefits. We have worked with every major insurance provider in Connecticut and our skilled administrative personnel can help you research and determine your benefits.

I am taking medicine for my diagnosis, can I still benefit from therapy?
Therapy is proven to increase the clinical benefits of many pharmacological treatments.
The close relationship between body and mind, biology and psychology is well established and research have demonstrated that certain inherited biological factors can increase the risk of emotional problems. For some disorders pharmacological treatments can give substantial relief, but a combination of psychotherapy and pharmacological treatment is often the most effective treatment for many individuals. A large number of careful clinical studies have demonstrated that the combination treatment is most efficient for many common disorders.
